CHG Weaving Basics
The first thing we will study is DRAFTING. The study group will use the book: The Complete Book of Drafting for Handweavers by Madelyn van der Hoogt.
The WEAVING BASICS STUDY GROUP would meet the third Thursday of each month from 7pm to approximately 9pm.

Chapter 2 – Understanding the Basic Weaves
The weave structure images that follow are woven on a 30 shaft point threading using 8/2 cotton yarn.

The “King” of basic weave structures.

Plain Weave Variations
Basket weave – 2 threads grouped in warp and weft.
3 threads grouped in warp and weft.
4 threads grouped in warp and weft.
