Sandra Teepen

Bio:

My personal philosophy about art is color, color, color and texture, texture, texture. Don’t be shy about mixing things. It is the chemistry of mixing that creates the magic. I went to art school in Milwaukee and Minneapolis. My career began as a costume designer at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, and the Missouri Repertory Theatre in Kansas City. From there, I ventured into weaving and eventually quilting. My focus for the past 30 years has been quilted collages. I love to discover new fabrics, and friends bring me material from around the world. That sense of the world in textiles brings me great joy, leading me in new directions.
