Description
Have fun learning to weave on a floor loom for personal use or for gifts. For those experienced weavers, we will be focusing on overshot. You will learn how this particular block weave works, the mechanics of how you treadle, how to manage the use of 2 shuttles, appropriate fibers, a discussion about blocks, all with the aim of creating your own unique designs. Students will complete a sampler exploring different treadlings to achieve different results. If time permits, students will be able to weave a small overshot of their choice.
Beginners will learn the entire process of handweaving from the cone of yarn to finished cloth. In addition to weaving a project, you will create a notebook of samples for use in future projects. This class will assist you in working toward a clear understanding of the weaving process. 8 weeks of instruction.
Please note: There is no class on Wednesday, November 25th.
