Description
In this series, you will learn all you need to know to start weaving on a floor loom. You will learn the principles of handweaving, including designing a project, preparing a warp, dressing a floor loom, weaving your project, and finishing your project.
This series project (7 sessions) is yardage from a hand-dyed warp to make into a bag or pillow. Your teacher will create and dye all the warps. You will pick your warp during the first class.
Every class series, which consists of 6 class sessions, has a different project for the Introduction to Weaving class. Students can start with any class in this series. Once students have completed a few of the intro series classes, they will be comfortable warping and working independently on floor looms and can proceed to other upper-level weaving classes offered by the guild or elsewhere. More advanced students are welcome if the project interests them; however, the class pace is set for the new weaver. All projects are done on Wolf Pups. 7 Sessions = 21 Hours
The guild provides all equipment that is needed–floor loom, yarn, shuttles, etc. There is a supply fee for the yarn.
