If you have finished a few of our Intro to Weaving classes and you are ready to stretch your weaving wings while still receiving instruction about warping and dressing your loom, this is the class for you. If you are a more experienced weaver who would like access to the larger looms for your project but are unfamiliar with our classroom and our looms, this is the class for you.

In this session, we will look at the various ways to create Complex Twills. We will explore both threading for a specific twill pattern and Double Two Tie threading (DTT). DTT allows you to do a variety of Plaited or Braided Twill. Our first class-session will be a discussion of the twill drafting structures.

The Guild provides all equipment that is needed, floor loom, boat shuttles, etc. Students generally provide their yarn for warp and weft. If you do not have a lot of yarn, speak with your instructor about purchasing yarn from them for your class project. Students will wind their warps before the second class.

This class uses a mix of Wolf series looms, AVL Home looms, and other looms donated to the Guild. Students who are interested in working independently with teacher assistance are welcome. Please talk with the instructor prior to the first class if you are interested in doing an independent project.
