Have you ever wondered about Weft-faced Weaving? Have you wanted to try different types of looms? Then, this is the class for YOU! This class is beginner-friendly; however, some knowledge of floor looms will be helpful.

In this class you will learn all about weft-faced weaving structures–boundweave, krokbragd, rosepath, twill, plain weave, on opposites, and more.  These structures require 4 shafts or less to weave.  We will use wool, linen and other fibers for warp and weft. Weft-faced weaving can be used for rugs, trivets, pillows, wall hangings, placemats, bags and more.

Working in a round-robin style, each class member will work on every loom, giving each class member hands-on experience with different looms and different weaving structures. We will work on Macombers, a Kessenich, a counterbalance LeClerc Fanny and perhaps a few others.

Class discussions will include warping the different looms; using various fibers and epi (ends per inch) for warp; using linen versus cotton for warp; using wool and why most weavers use wool, learning tips and tricks of weaving weft-faced structures; designing your next project; and finishing.

Each class member will weave a sample of each structure for their own ‘sample book. Samples made in the class will be 10” wide.
