Description
Hybrid Workshop Format (Instructor remote / Participants in person at CHG)
This workshop is strictly limited to 10 persons. Participants will be together at CHG. Cameras will be setup to provide Ms. Lancaster with a view of the room and the ability to look at specific items where participants have questions. For those who learn better with hands on exercises, this covers a scope similar to the ‘Weave a Wardrobe’ workshop but incorporates hands on work with the techniques covered — a crash course in garment construction, embellishment, piecing, fit, and finishing for weavers or anyone interested in learning to construct great looking and great fitting garments tackling seam finishes, buttonholes, closures, linings, and embellishment. This is a terrific class for those wanting to learn to sew clothing from their hand-woven or other special fabric, as well as for those more experienced wanting polished and professional results.
- Day 1 will focus on Seam and Edge Finishes as well as Sett, Washing, Interfacing, Underlining and Hemming
- Day 2 focuses on Closures and the always important topic of Fit as well as addressing your questions.
A strictly VIRTUAL workshop format will be presented the weekend of September 24-25, 2022. Click HERE to go to that workshop. An optional kit is available of some of the items needed for this workshop. Included: ½ yard of Fusiknit, 8” square of Woven Cotton Fusible Interfacing, 2 yards of bias cut tricot, 1 yard of cording, and a snap with a square of Silk Habotai. KIT FEE: $10. Deadline to request a kit is Sep 16th, 2022.
