In this class we will explore design options for tapestry and learn what will weave, what sett works best, how much detail we can get, and what can be left out according to the scale and size you want to work in.  We’ll talk about blending colors, where texture might enhance the design and learn some techniques for achieving a desired texture or effect including outlines, adding tips and tricks to bring your skills up to the next level.  I will have some gray 12/6 warp and some of my yarns available for purchase.  I will also provide paper, colored paper, cardboard, tempera paint, plastic cups, some brushes, cutting board, exacto knife, metal ruler, transparencies of setts, vellum for cartoons, some diagrams of possible techniques we may want to cover, a light box for tracing, and a projector for enlarging.
