Mary Mattimoe is fiber artist from Atlanta. Her work is mainly autobiographical and has been noted for its movement.
Artist Statement:
For the past few years, I pursued a career change that would take me away from my art work. I jumped in feet first and gave it my best shot then fell short. Redirect when I needed it more than I realized. Quilting this piece brought tears of joy. The transformation within me was in my recognition of my art as my purpose and passion.
Techniques Used: I used free motion quilting to create Redirect. Free Motion Quilting allows me draw with thread and create lovely texture.
